Found the evidence

Buddy, you should have wiped your mouth after eating snacks from the cupboard without me knowing
because I can see some evidence right there around your mouth.
I should have a lock for that cupboard…

or maybe not so you can eat all the calorie-ful (that's a word, right?)
snacks there so I will not be tempted to eat them just because I don't want them to go to waste
but then they go to my WAIST!  Ugh!

I Heart Faces: Innocent Wonder

This little boy is a boy through and through.
He likes cars, swords, guns, soldiers,
balls, Lego, video games,
…and books!

Whenever we visit Value Village or Goodwill,
books will keep him occupied.
Well, the toys, too but I prefer the books.
And he is more than happy to browse through the books section
and pick out Spiderman, Star Wars and other boy books.
Though he likes to flip through the pages of Anne of Green Gables, too.
I'll blame this influence on me and my little girl, Beata.

Here is a photo of him with the Hardy Boys books that hubby got from a yard sale.

My boys (that's including hubby!) have never actually read any of it.
It makes a good display because I like how vintagey (is that even a word?) it looks.
But for sure, they will soon get their hands on one of these.

May The Force Be With You

Build-A-Bear Darth Vader
with Star Wars sound
How cool is that!

Our kids like Star Wars.
They can even name the characters.
But they have not watched one. single. episode. of Star Wars.
It's all because of the Star Wars Wii.
Have I given the boys too much time playing this Wii game?

I just realized, I myself have not watched a single episode of Star Wars,
or have played the Star Wars Wii.
That's why I get lost when we talk Star Wars in this house!

He's Ready!

He is more than ready.

Ready to learn new things
(always asking me when we are going to start school again even though he had a rough start last year )

Ready to try big things
(always trying to copy what big brother Jakob does…and yes, sometimes even what big sister Beata does, too!)

Ready to start great things
(already preparing for his debut in school, even if it's still months away; he even wanted to skip kinder and go to Grade 1 right away)
Maybe if I keep him at home and homeschool him, his plans would become reality.

Yep, he is ready for new and big and great things
…for a five-year-old, that is!

Happy 5th birthday, Jet-jet!
You are truly funny and loveable.
We love you!

I Heart Faces: Winter Wonderland

Snow came late this season.
My little girl has been wanting for snow to come since September.
So when snow came, she was excited.
As seen here with her "mouth-open" smile(?)
She is always this animated!

Keep walking

At the wedding rehearsal for Tim and Julie's wedding
wherein Beata is one of the flower girls.
"Keep walking" is probably what my girl was thinking.
She can be impatient at times.
Darling, they're younger than you.
I think you should slow down for them.

It Finally Came...

We've been waiting for it to come for Christmas.
Sadly, snow was nowhere to be found for the whole month of December.

But the wait is over because snow fell on Saturday
and the kids were excited to go out and play,
and even help clear the snow on the driveway and sidewalks.

They were rewarded with a trip to the nearby schoolyard for some sledding fun,
and gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate afterwards.

It finally came and it is here to stay for a while.
In fact, just as I am writing this, wind and snow is blowing outside
and a snow storm is heading our way according to the weatherman.

Snow day tomorrow?

Do you see me?  A very COLD self-portrait!  Haha!

I Heart Faces: Smile

Jakob, my first born.
He's got the most pictures out of all my kiddos.
We have a lot of videos of him, too
(unlike Jethro, my third, who I believe doesn't have one single baby video from our old, chunky video camera).

He should have been trained by now on how to smile naturally in front of the camera.
But it's always the same, posed smile.
I think he likes his pictures like this than the all-gums-and-teeth-smile he sometimes give me.
I have a few of those and I am planning to use it on his wedding day!
This smile will do for now.

A Day Of Anticipation and Disappointment

Got an email from Starbucks early this week telling me that
Tazo teas are half prized from today until the 16th from 2-5 pm.
So much anticipation came over me.
My dollars (or gift cards) would go a loooonnng way!
I even requested a text message from Starbucks on my phone just to make sure I remember.
And…I forgot all about it until 4:55 pm.
I told hubby I wanted to go and get a Chai Latte.
He said go and hurry
but I am sure I will not make it to the nearest Starbucks in five minutes or less.
Big disappoinment!
Sudden changes in my mood, I'm tellin' ya!

I Heart Faces: Best Face Photo of 2010

I photographed this baby in 2010 when he was only ten days old.
He is a big boy and surely doesn't look like a newborn - no wrinkly newborn skin at all!
Loved it when he gave us a pout.
Such a cutie!
I am entering this at I Heart Faces' Best Face Photo of 2010.
