Fabulous Find Friday: GUMBALL MACHINE

What a beauty!
I've always wanted to have a gumball machine.  I even tried to get one of those little tabletop ones for myself one Christmas.  But having an M&M dispenser on the counter already, I don't feel like there should be a competition on the countertop.
So at my usual Saturday Summer Morning Yard Sale Hunt, I saw this beauty two-lane away and I ran for it.
"How much for your gumball machine?"
"$5"
I grabbed it and said "I'll take it!"
Now it's adorning my boring dining room corner, waiting for your pennies.
What a beauty!
Want to see it closer?
Okay, here you go.
So don't forget your change next time you visit my house.

THURSDAY THEN & NOW: Kiddie Pool

Then...
Now...
Excuse Jakob, he's meditating.
And what is Beata doing with that toy on her head?
At least Jethro has a normal container for a toy which is heavier than him when full.

I'm so excited...

...not!

Well, I was but because of this throat infection that I have been nursing for two weeks now, my excitement is slowly turning into pain and fatigue.

My little girl and little boy were flower girl and page boy at a friend's wedding. It was a joy to watch my two little ones walking down the aisle but I think I was more busy keeping myself from not passing out due to fever, nausea and fatigue.

We were actually concerned that Jethro would run instead of walk but he walked slowly and perfectly down the aisle.  Standing still at the altar was a different story, but thankfully Jakob was more than willing to perform Jethro's role while Jethro slept at the pew.

My birthday came and I was so eager to try out my new lens (birthday gift courtesy of hubby. Thanks, honey.) at the zoo but a day at the zoo was a bit too much for me to handle.

Okay, I took a few nice pictures but I was wiped out at the end of the day.

And since my birthday, my new lens has been sitting in the camera bag, begging for me to use it but all I want to do is lay on the bed and sleep for the whole day. I'm so greatful Jakob does not have school, he's been taking care of his sibllings' breakfast almost everyday. And a big thank-you to my hubby too for fixing our dinner most nights eventhough he is tired from a work.

Love you , hun. You're the man!!!

So that's my story these couple of weeks of no blogging.

And did I mention that I have six books about photography that I borrowed from the library patiently waiting for my attention?  Twenty-four hours in a day is not enough for a busy, blogging, sick, DIY mom like me.

(More on that DIY next time).

Sunday Selah: ALMIGHTY, UNCHANGEABLE GOD

ALMIGHTY, UNCHANEABLE GOD
By Cindy Berry

Who spread out the clouds before Him?
Who fashioned the earth with His hands?
Who created the starry host,
And formed the earth at His command?
Who scatters lightning before Him,
Commands the rain and snow to fall?
Who makes the nations tremble?
Who is Lord over all?

He is Almighty, Unchangeable God,
King of kings,
Lord of lords,
robed in majesty.
He rules and reigns,
For all eternity,
Almighty, Unchangeable God.

He is like the light at sunrise,
Like the brightness after the rain.
Robed in splendor,
He’s seated on His heavenly throne above.
His glory fills the heavens;
He is exalted over all.
Yet this God of Heaven loves me
With an everlasting love.

He is Almighty, Unchangeable God,
King of kings,
Lord of lords,
robed in majesty.
He rules and reigns,
For all eternity,
Almighty, Unchangeable God.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8

Today, we just sailed on…

This has been Christopher Columbus’ journal entry on most days where they discovered nothing while they’re sailing. They kept sailing on, going forward until they discover something. Their hopes are up, always looking forward to the next day.
This has been what our church family has been doing since the passing away of our beloved Pastor. It was something unexpected but God was not surprised. He has a plan and we need to trust Him. We may not have the answers to all of our questions, and we may not know them, but they are not vital to our “sailing on”. What is vital is our faithfulness to our mighty, unchangeable God and our faithfulness to the work of His church. It’s this time that we need to work harder, to grow closer to each other, to look unto Jesus. Though we wished everyday that this shouldn’t have happened, we should never look back but keep pressing forward towards the mark set before us.
What we need is not the absence of the storm but the presence of the Saviour. And we praise the Lord for his comfort, presence, love and assurance in this trying time...ALL THE TIME.
Today, we just sailed on…and we’ll keep sailing for our Saviour.

Sunday Selah: LEAN ON ME

LEAN ON ME
Author Unknown

As the road ahead seems rugged
And the path is getting steep,
I feel that I can't make it
So my heart begins to weep.

Then I turn to see who's coming
To join me on my way.
I see it is my Lord
And He slowly turns to say

"Lean on me.....
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.

Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."

Then when I felt that no one cared
If I lived or died,
And no one bothered asking why
I'd go alone to cry.

When the burden got so heavy
I could barely face the day,
I felt His arms around me
As I gently heard Him say

"Lean on me......
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.

Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you come to know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
