Sunday Selah: Thank God for Missionaries

It was a happy but emotional night for the church family tonight.  Three families whom we all love are stepping out in faith and are going to go into the mission field.   I am surprised and sad at first; it was sad to let them go...but hey, I should be praising God because they are going to places we can't go to fulfill the great commission.  It would definitely be a quick one month then off they go to prepare for their new field.  We thank the Lord for them, and their influences and examples in our lives and the whole church family.  They will be missed for sure, but God has better plans.  Our prayers are always with them.  Thank God for these missionaries who will go.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke 10:2

Jesus Loves Me

Last night was Jakob's first violin performance with his violin class. They started their class in January, and I am amazed at what they've learned from the short 3 months.  I've watched him play the viloin from a "what note was that?" to "Yeah, I know that song!" It was such a blessing to see these kids play their instrument for God and be a blessing to the church family last night. I am so blessed to see Jakob's excitement to learn music and praise God with it. I think I was more nervous than him. They all did very well.

Sunday Selah: Stand Still

The Father has a plan. Though it's hard to see it now
You feel you're walking all alone. But He is there no doubt
When the storm around you rages, And you're tossed to and fro
When you're faced with life's decisions, Not sure which way to go

Stand still and let God move, Standing still is hard to do
When you feel you have reached the end, He'll make a way for you
Stand still and let God move

When the enemy surrounds you, And the walls are closing in
When the tide is swiftly rising, And you wonder where He's been
Friend, there never was a moment, That His arms weren't reaching out
You can rest assured and be secure, God is moving right now

Stand still and let God move, Standing still is hard to do
When you feel you have reached the end, He'll make a way for you
Stand still and let God move

The answer will come, But only in His time
Stand still and let God move, Stand still and let God move

Sunday Selah: The Lamb Has Prevailed!

The Lamb Has Prevailed
Angels stand in silence as they wait on Heaven's border
To witness what the Father would not see
Tears from their eyes fall as rain among the thunder
As they watch the precious Lamb on Calvary
His last breath is diminished, there's a shout of "It is finished"
It's over now; they brush their tears away
Returning to to surround the throne they gather 'round the Father
As the hosts of Heaven sing this song of praise
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Sin has been defeated, the enemy has failed
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Redemption is completed, the Lamb has prevailed
If I could climb a mountaintop, reaching high above the nations
And lift my voice in a mighty melody
If my song could reach around the the earth and get the world's attention
I would sing about the Lamb that set men free
Redemption is completed, the Lamb has prevailed!
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Matthew 28:6a

Sunday Selah: Phew! We're done!

A week and a half of cleaning, organizing, scrubbing, painting, planning and lack of rest and sleep is over (it eneded 5 days ago; I was just lazy to update the blog :) Sorry!).  We are trying to prep the house as we plan to put the house for sale and move up.  We want to live closer to church since we will have 2 kiddos in school this September.  We feel that this would save us more time and money in the long run.  Plus, the real estate market says this is the best time to buy/move up.  We are hoping to sell our current house at a price that would pay out our current mortgage and give us a bit of a start in the downpayment of another house. At this point, I see that this cannot happen.  We might proceed with our Plan B -- renting it out until the market goes up (or probably if it works well, we might end up renting it out for a very long time!).  We will be praying hard.  It can be scary but we put our faith and trust in the Lord.  He will put everything in its right place at the right time.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

update:  We pulled the listing from the market.  We are trusting God while we wait for the right time and opportunity to move closer to our home church.  It was disappointing at first, but having prayed for it, we know that everything is according to His plans.  We are trusting God.
