PIC OF THE WEEK:???

None. Can you believe it? No pictures this week. After all the things we did for March break, I did not get one single shot of anything. So for me not to forget, here's what happened this week...
Tuesday: After Jakob's violin lessons, I took the 3 kiddos to McDonald's for lunch and for some time at the playplace. We were there for a good 1 hour (or so) and Beata and Jethro fell asleep in the van on our 2 minute drive home.
Thursday: Tim Horton's for breakfats then Chuck E. Cheese. We went to CEC very early last year for March break. And I remembered seeing the very long line-up of people wanting to get inside by noon. I should have learned (and remembered) from last year. We went to CEC at noontime and it was FULL! We have to wait at least half an hour to get in and once inside, there was just too many people. We ended up spending about 45 minutes there. Then we went to Oshawa Mall for lunch and some ice cream!
Friday: Raymond took the day off so we can all spend the day together. Tim Horton's for breakfast (again! You can never have enough of donuts! LOL) and then we went bowling for an hour. Beata was too much of a firl to enjoy it but Jakob and Jethro (and Raymond...okay, and me!) had fun. So much fun that Raymond and I are planning to go bowling again on our next date night :D Then we went home for the kids' afternoon nap (well, just Jethro). I went for a little shopping trip while the rest of the gang clean-up the yard (unfair, eh?!). Then I took the kids to the park with Jakob and Beata working hard to pedal their bikes going to the park. We had fun and laughs playing in the park, giving daddy time to finish up the yard work. At 6 pm, we went skating at the community centre. About an hour spent there (seems like 2 hours for someone who doesn't know how to skate like me) then we have to go back home coz Grandma and Grandpa are coming over. I had fun watching (yes, watching. I can barely move my skates!) Jakob skate around. I guess the skating lessons worked! And Jethro was being lazy haging on to the skating aid while Raymond pushes him. And Beata is brave. She has not been on ice since last winter and she was doing very well. She almost did not use her skating aid. She was taking things slow but making a lot of progress! She even did a few turns like a pro skater! Too bad I did not have my camera with me :(
Thumbs up for all the activiies we did for March break...but boohoo for mommy for not taking one single picture! =P

Sunday Selah: God's Been Good

GOD'S BEEN GOOD
Sue C. Smith & Belinda Smith
Lately I've been looking back along this winding road
To the old familiar markers of the mercies I have known
I know it may sound simple, but it's more than a cliche
There's no better way to tell you than to say:
God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.
Times replay, and I can see that I've cried some bitter tears
But I've felt His arms around me as I've faced my greatest fears
You see, I've had more gains than losses, and I've known more joy than hurt
As His grace rolled down upon me undeserved.
God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.
For God has been my Father, my Savior, and my Friend
His love was my beginning and His love will be my end.
I could spend forever trying to tell you everything He is,
But the best way I can say it is this:
God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.

Grrrrreat time at Great Wolf Lodge

We surprised the kids with a mini vacation at Niagara Falls.  It was hard not to tell (and hard to pack clothes and food in secret!). 2 days, 1 night at Great Wolf Lodge. It was great! We enjoyed it a lot and we want to go back! Nothing but positive comments from us -- from the hotel facade to the complimentary bag and swimsuit dryer (LOL).  Though it was okay to take pictures inside the waterpark, I was not able to take one picture coz we were too excited to play in the water.  Juts double the oohhs and ahhs from our posted pics here and it'll give you an idea of how fun it was there!
(And did I mention I got the hotel room rate at 43% less than the regular price?  Now that's a deal!)
WARNING:  LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD!

Sunday Selah: Training up a child

I thank the Lord for his mercy and grace towards His children.  I thank Him for all the trials and tribulations that comes every now and then to help make us more like Him.  I can't help but think the same way when it comes to our children.  I was blessed with this evening's message at church -- how we can make a difference in the lives of our children.  We are the first generation Christians in our family (both my side and Raymond's side).  I can honestly say that it is quite hard not having a Christian heritage.  We are thankful to God for our parents coz eventhough they were not saved, they trained and disciplined us in the best of their abilities.  But starting a Godly heritage is a whole different chapter.  Thank God for the Bible and our church that guide us along the way.  I love our children.  I thank God for them continually.  It's a hard start and a long journey, but our sacrifices will help start pave the way ahead.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

PIC OF THE (LAST) WEEK: Piano buddies

note: sorry, I missed updating my blog last Sunday so I am doing my pic of the week just now.  :(
Jakob is learning so much from his piano lessons. Beata said she wants to learn too so Jakob volunteered to teach (at least for now until Beata is a little older to take proper lessons). Who knows? We might not need another piano teacher if Jakob keeps it up

Pioneer Days

We were all excited last Friday for Jakob.  It was their Pioneer Day in school.  I spent the a few days looking through Value Village for a pageboy hat, boots and suspenders for his costume.  I found a nice leather pair of boots and an adjustable corduroy pageboy hat.  I used Raymond's old suspenders and added it to Jakob's old dress pants.  I got my inspiration from Anne of Green Gables.  It all went together perfectly.  And I love Jakob's excitement about his Pioneer Day in school.  Beata kept saying that her brother looks like "Green Gables" : ).  I can't wait for Beata's turn.  I'm sure it'll be more challenging..and fun!

It's good to be back!

The past week has been very tiring.  Jakob had cough and colds but thank the Lord for it did not last long. Then I had a strep throat from Wednesday night until Sunday.  Praise the Lord for the antibiotics!  It's a good thing it is bacterial and not viral; the antibiotic kicked in right away.  But the fever, headache and pains that came with it were not so fun.  I am just so glad it's all over now.  And I am so greatful for my hands-on hubby.  He was a blessing to us (specially to me).  He cooked, cleaned, did errands, took care of the dirty dishes and so much more.  Thanks, hon.  I thank the Lord for you all the time.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalms 150:6
