Wow, Piiiizzzzzaaaaaa!!!! No party for Jakob's friends this year but we agreed on a pizza lunch for his birthday. So I made some phonecalls to about 3 pizza places looking for the one who can make me the earliest pizza (Jakob and his classmates are counting on it; it's pizza or no lunch for them). And I was getting anxious coz all of them opens at 11:00 am and 11:15 is the earliest pizza pick-up, and Jakob's lunch is at 11:30. Uh-oh! I think I got a problem here :(. So I took my chances, ordered from the nearest pizza place from school and hoped (and prayed) that it'll be ready in time. Went in the pizza place even before 11 am and there's my pizza, ready for the oven so to my relief, I ordered 2 more, making my order a total of 6, 10-slice pizzas. And at 11:15 am I am on my way to school, arrived there even before their lunch time. And it was a blast. They all love it! Not just Jakob's Grades 1,1,3 class but we even get to share them to the teachers and the Kinder and Grades 4,5,6 classes. And I think they were hungry :D; here's why (the other box is still awaiting to be finished by the Kinder kids who are still finishing their lunches from their mommies!)
Wow, Chuck E. Cheese! After school, we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese's for some fun and games for Jakob's birthday. Jethro was overwhelmed at first, not so sure if he wanted to play but it took him less tahn 5 minutes to convince himself that this is his place to run and play and jump all he wants! We spent about 2 hours and more than 50 tokens in games. They had fun. I was relaxed this time, knowing that my kids are big enought o jump and play and run without me having to run after them all the time. I know it will get better from here (though deep inside I am wishing they would stay as little kids).
Wow, it's a celebration! Our families in Canada joined us on Saturday for Jakob's 8th birthday celebration. Lots of food, lots of laugh! We had a "Give me" game -- anyone who can bring the item asked first, gets to pick a prize from the treat/prize box. Everybody joined the game; this is a nice alternative to "just kids" games in every party. We all had full stomach from all the food (thanks to my in-laws for helping with the food!) and we had enough food to take home...now that's perfect! hehehe.
note: this is a repost. The images in the original post does not show on my blogger edit page and I cannot reorder them so I only placed a few pics here. You can view them all at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=80197&id=656876124&ref=mf
Jakob gave me a question that I couldn't answer yesterday -- "How come I don't get any mail?". Okay, I can answer it but to answer it in a simple way for an 8 year old (7, turning 8 in 2 days) at an instant seem impossible for me that time. I just told him he's not old enough to get mails, then we never talked about it again for the remainder of the day.
Jakob posing with his Lego -- to be used for his birthday t-shirt for his Lego party. I used another shot though, but thought this was cute. He will be 8 years old on Friday!
Jakob ate rice and chicken teriyaki (he finished 2 orders of it plus a couple of tempura) for dinner last night. This picture is showing him eating rice the "Filipino way" -- no utensils, just your hands/fingers. Yum!

Pancakes and Bouncy slide for Thanksgiving. We were planning to eat at Cora's for a nice Thanksgiving breakfast but I decided that I will just cook a nice big breakfast to save some time... and money. Then since it was a beautiful day, Raymond and I decided to try our newest garage sale purchase...the H2O slide. It's actually a waterslide but you can still use it as a regular slide without the water. And it was a big hit for the kids (okay, and adults too! We tried it a few times too!). Jethro was hesitant for the first five minutes and after that, he never wanted to leave. We'll have to see how much more fun it is with the water next Summer!
Elliptical Trainer is our new exercise equipment. I wanted a treadmill, but for $50 more we can get an ellitical so Raymond voted for the elliptical. I agreed coz he always brag about how nice it is to workout on an elliptical when he used to go to his office gym. I want him to enjoy it so I agreed (wow, submissive eh!). Well, I have to say that I love it too...if only I can be consistent enough to use it every morning! hehe.
Triscuit. We have a friendly squirrel in our tree who seems to always want some food... from us. We used to give him some old cereal all the time (and this squirrel is particularly picky on the cereal; he turns down some kinds). But today, I gave him a triscuit and he loves it. I got to take a picture so here it is. (And it looks like this squirrel is a she with babies or she's just plain fat! haha)

Ha! I am still in shock to know that my kids are already in bed even before 8:30 pm; all clean, they showered, in PJs, already prayed and now tucked in bed! (We even played Crocodile Dentist for a few minutes!) Wow! We are making progress! We always try to put them to bed around the 8:30 margin but we always end up half an hour late. Maybe the very busy day
helped -- we were with family this afternoon for Rhianna's (Raymond's cousin) 5th birthday. They were running around playing with other kids for about 2 hours. They enjoyed it so much especially the dress-up part where Beata dressed up as Mulan and Jethro as Buzz Lightyear, of course! We got home at 4:30 pm, and it gave me enough time to still go out with my sister to do a little shopping. A great big thanks to my hubby. So helpful...all the time!
